Clinton, McCain take N.H.

I am not sure how Sen. Hillary Clinton did it but she did. She was able to pull off a victory tonight. With 80 percent of Democrats precinents reporting, Clinton has 39 percent of the vote to 36 percent for Barack Obama. Former Sen. John Edwards trailed with 17.

In his concession speech, Obama said he will continue fight:

"For most of this campaign we were far behind," he said. "We always knew that our climb would be steep. ... With your voices and your votes you made it clear that at this moment, in this election, there is something happening in America."

On the Republican side, Sen. John McCain regained his title of "Comeback kid" with his win over Mitt Romney.

"I’m past the age when I can claim the noun 'kid,' no matter what adjective precedes it, but tonight we sure showed 'em what a comeback looks like," McCain said in his victory speech.

"We celebrate one victory tonight and leave for Michigan to win another."

As I have said before, I will say again, if you are not keeping up with this election, you should be. This is very important. You may think your vote doesn't count, but it does. We have the power to make a change, a change for the better.

If you don't know who is running for President, ask. There are many links devoted to this election, you can hop over to YouTube and watch the debates (they are better than the soaps).

Oprah lending hand to Obama's campaign

From cnn.com:

Political observers say Oprah Winfrey's decision to campaign with Sen. Barack Obama could help him made inroads into what many consider Sen. Hillary Clinton's natural constituency: women.

Oprah Winfrey appears with Sen. Barack and Michelle Obama during a fundraiser in September in Los Angeles.

In a move that may lead voters, particularly women, to take a second look at Obama, the talk show host will join the Democratic presidential candidate on the campaign trail December 8 and 9, Obama's campaign announced.

Winfrey will join Obama during campaign stops in the early-voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, the campaign said.

The appearances come just weeks before the crucial Iowa caucus on January 3.

"Oprah takes the idea of a celebrity endorsement to a whole new level. She's not just a superstar. She's a nova," Democratic strategist Jenny Backus told CNN.

"She's not just a Hollywood celebrity. In fact, she's really not Hollywood. She's like the voice of America. I mean, she is someone that more American women and men tune into every day." (Read More...)
Do you think Oprah will help boost/crash Obama's numbers??

Obama, Dick Cheney Cousins

Dick Cheney's wife, Lynne, uncovered that her husband and Obama are in fact cousins.

She said she uncovered the long-ago ties between the two while researching her ancestry for her latest book, "Blue Skies, No Fences," a memoir about growing up in Wyoming.

"This is such an amazing American story that one ancestor ... could be responsible down the family lines for lives that have taken such different and varied paths as Dick's and Barack Obama," Lynne Cheney told MSNBC.

According to her spokeswoman, Sen. Obama, D-Ill., is a descendant of Mareen Duvall. This French Huguenot's son married the granddaughter of a Richard Cheney, who arrived in Maryland in the late 1650's from England, said Ginny Justice, a spokeswoman for Lynne Cheney.

The vice president's full name is Richard B. Cheney. (SOURCE)

A spokesman for Obama replied, "Every family has a black sheep."

sidebar: It is mighty peculiar that this information was brought out during the peak time of presidential campaigning. The Bush Administration is not slick at all. Black folks are still going to support Obama, even though, he has a trigger-happy cousin.
